I'm about to purchase an RV but cant seem to get insurance, there are three bones of contention, apart from the obvious import one,
Firstly I work in entertainment and when insuring the current vehicle (a converted coach) I was told that I would need a commercial policy, I pay £1600 a year, the commercial policy being the second bone the third being full timing which I'm happy going down the permenantly on holiday with a friends address route.
I wondered if anyone else has a businesss element on their RV insurance.
or should I lie about my proffesion etc .
Im just worried about a big claim and the companies getting out that fine tooth comb .
any pointers would be appreciated.
cheers

For some strange reason RH Specialist insurance include business cover on their policies, and despite what their web page states, they do NOT include recovery for over 3.5 ton
You have to arrange that separately
I also think NFU are wrong they do cover many imported RVs, How can you have an American RV that is Not imported:Doh:

I suspect you are using the wrong, if not certainly different terminology to every one else,to these insurers
I know several people on here who are fully insured with RVs by the very companies you say have turned you down:Doh:
You must be saying something strange to them:Blush:

I also work in the entertainment industry and for any insurance I always say I am an engineer , they can be funny about our industry. Dont know about full timing as I don't do that . My RV is with Safegaurd very happy with them.

Good luck anyway.
