We have just arrived back from a 1800 mile round trip to the Alps.
We travelled there in a motorhome without camper tyres and we suffered no blowouts.
We kept our heating on as we slept and woke in the morning without CO poisoning.
We have a fire extinguisher and still haven't used it!
We slept in a motorway service station for a few hours and were not robbed.
We used toll roads on the way down and paid class 2 fees for our 3850 kg van.
We 'forgot' to fit our beam deflectors so I dipped the headlights low using the adjuster on the dashboard. Nobody flashed us, we weren't stopped by the police and we haven't destroyed our plastic headlamp lenses.
We haven't got speed stickers on the rear and weren't arrested.
We might have forgotten to switch off the gas and didn't explode into a huge fireball.
We stopped at the aire on Calais beach, left the van whilst we checked in the dogs at pet passport control and didn't find any Africans anywhere underneath.

Are we just lucky, or is motorhoming not as dangerous as you lot make out?

In fact we have trained the younger one (who hasn't got a C1 license) to drive up the levelling ramps for us!

I ain't paying your parking fine Rory!
The snow was still good on and off piste. A couple of the lower runs towards Les Menuires were thinning and the off piste needs a few more layers to be more fun, but overall very good!
Looking forward to returning in February with the kids instead of dogs!

Several years now
Based on your posing above I have cancelled the SAS squad who were going to bodyguard us in France and I will tell the tow truck driver who I had commissioned to follow close behind us at all times that he can stay about 5 car lengths back now.

......but were you gassed? With those dogs, the answer is probably yes

We did behave dangerously by giving them some of our leftover Christmas lunch, INCLUDING SPROUTS!!!!!

The fresh mountain air soon dispersed any odour!!!!!

... so you're importing dogs & exporting kids... Is that how you fund your trips?

There's a good markup to be made if you sell them in certain parts of Romania!

You just need to dye their hair dark brown and dress them down a bit so they fit in with their new families and don't arouse suspicion from the police!

Still making mistakes! But they're not as costly.
Well done you. We were quite worried when we started after reading all the doom mongers on here, but like yourselves, we've now been travelling for the past 18 months and it been so boringly easy. Feel so sorry for those folk that do have reflector problems!
