Just looking for a motorhome with

1. Twin sofas long enough to put your feet out straight (we like to lounge)

2. Drop down bed or fixed rear bedroom but not both and not a French bed

3. Seperate shower

4. Oven but not a low sitting one

5. Decent size fridge

We've been looking for this kind of layout for a while but can't seem to find one

Any ideas?

Rob&Janex:-)

Hi rob

Just spent 3 hours down in Southdowns im sure there were some there

We were there yesterday, some nice vehicles but nothing suited us, oh and some vans had not been looked after. There was a van silverline I think which looked like a funeral parlour inside:xrofl:

More than toes wet now!
The problem may be "not a low oven" and may have to be a tag axle, eg Auto-trail Frontier Chieftain or Comanche.

It does seem the right layout for us with the Autotrails, just didn't think I would be driving something so long.

We were parked next to one on a aire in France in June, looked lovely. I think the outside lockers had double doors or something different about them.

OK. If you could live with a full width rear toilet and shower room an Autocruise Augusta may fit the bill. We looked at one up in Scotland but can't remember how long the front benches were.
Webb's in Warminster have one on the market just now.

Cheers for the video:xThumb: I've just been looking at the Auto-Trail Imala 2015:xThumb:, looks very good but guess we'd be making the bed up at the back as not sure of the size of the over cab bed.

We had a very similar wish list to you, it was a choice between a Kon-Tiki or Comanche and we settled for the Comanche. Have never regretted it and don't find the length to long. Lounging on the bench seats is excellent, especially when the weather is rubbish. Have you looked round Dolphin Motorhomes at Bursledon (J8 M27) or Freeborn Motorhomes (next to St Marys Stadium) Southampton.

Rob ours nearly meets your wish list although at first glance you wouldn't think so, we have the L shaped lounge at the front and when you turn both cab seats round they line up lovely with the side sofas so you can recline your seat and put your feet up. I know there are a few like this so maybe you just haven't realised, ours is the Adria Mateix 680SP?

The over-cab bed is 1.86 x 1.17m which is a fair bit narrower than a UK standard double at 1.37m.
Don't know if you have their 2015 brochure but it's here. http://www.auto-trail.co.uk/media/downloads/brochures/auto-trail-2015.pdf
You can also download their older brochures back to about 2006 if you see a potential used option.

Autotrail Tracker EKS.. 6.39 mtr long. 2 x side bench couches which can be used as 2 single beds, or pulled together to make a massive 6 foot 4 inch long x 5 foot 6 inch wide double bed.. Separate shower, electric flush loo with fitted SOG.. Outside gas BBQ point, outside shower point. Cab air-con, blown air etc... They drive well and easy to reverse etc, fitted rev; camera.... Good ride, but not a huge payload. ((We are naturists, so don't carry a lot..)) The build is as good as any and sensibly priced !! Have a good look and good luck with whatever you choose....
PS.. Layout is the most important thing when choosing...
Mitch.

Fixed bed and you automatically add at least 2 metres. It's your choice.

I am always surprised when I look in the, usually older, Hymer A class vans. They must have invented the Tardis.
Not if its a traverse bed thou then it's only a meter, but just imagine what you could do with an extra meter Mr hilldweller

Not my problem, the OP who did not want to drive a coach.

I think our Luton bed is brilliant for maximum facilities in minimum length. Yes, it would be nice if we did not have to climb a ladder but that's the price we pay, together with more diesel.

A metre ? That's a double bed for the very young and enthusiastic.
