just a final reminder that from midnight tonight the drink drive limit North of the border changes from the 80 mg to 50 mg per 100ml. Police Scotland have said they will be putting on extra patrols and especially during the mornings to catch as many people as possible.
Best advice don't drink any alcohol and drive and be very careful next day if you have had a few the previous night.

Well, not really...... all they are doing is bringing the limits into line with most of Europe. Is there a reason why this should not be done in the rest of the UK?

Surely they are not trying to stop people drinking whisky?

Just trying to stop people from driving a vehicle after the whisky drinking.

I can't believe any sensible person would object to this idea.

Living the dream.
My friend was involved in a RTC quite a few years ago now when I was driving trucks. He crashed his truck into the back of a tanker trailer, the police tested him and as he was T total was clear. They tested the tanker driver and although innocent he was three times over the DD limit, time? He had been on the road since 06.00 and the collision was at 13.30.

the problem arises when people drink heavily and still drive within 48 hours. Maybe every vehicle should have a breathalyser for a starter instead of a key.

30% of fatal accidents are caused by drunk drivers
That means 70% are caused by sober drivers
I know who id be after:rolleyes:

In most of the drink drive incidents we hear of, the drivers are usually 3 or 4 times over the limit, maybe they're the ones the press like to focus on ? I wonder how many accidents involve people who are 1 mg over the limit ?
