I've been looking at 12v tyre inflators to inflate my motorhome tyres if it's required.
Been to halfords, looked on the net, the specs all to be a tad vague when it comes to the pressures they will inflate to.
Can anyone recommend one?

First off, ignore any of em that give silly maximum pressures and cost about £15 !
They lie !!!

I've got the RING type and find it good to use and quite accurate.

I have an old Ring one which does a reasonable job but don't believe the inflatable pressures they quote. Mines quoted at 130 psi not a chance in hell the most it gets to is 80psi and takes forever to get there. These little 12v pumps are okay for topping up not much use inflating from flat.

Whatever one you get, if you need to use an extension lead, make sure it's a heavy duty one or the power loss will make it struggle

It's used by the AA & RAC breakdown patrols as standard equipment I am told. It certainly does the job.

As a portable compressor I have a Nu Air Boxy 1.5 HP 8 bar 116psi. Cost around £100 , noisy but powerful.

I second that. Got one it's brilliant

Be aware it's not a toy one so cannot connect to 12v power point. Needs direct connection to battery, but will inflate MoHo tyres to the high pressures required even with the increased volume, with good gauge and coiled hose gets around the van.

Don't waste your money on anything else

Compressor good.....power cable doubtful.

15a (assumed) at 12vdc with a 3% volt drop over 4.4mtrs will require 10mmsq cable.....and i doubt that will come with 10mm cables

I modified it to charge a 40ltr compressor tank via the tanks own automatic pressure cutout switch which cuts power at a pre-determined pressure....that pressure is 115psi.

Both the inbuilt gauge and the comp tanks own gauge show switch off between 112 and 115psi.
Takes around 7 minutes to charge the tank from empty.
