Silver Screens...... how easy to use? (1 Viewer)

In my quest to for screens I am wondering how easy they are to put on/ take off. I will be using the van for the next two months in Scotland so I can see the benefits, however as I will be 'commuting' I wonder if they will be quick and easy to remove on dark mornings for example?

Any advice much appreciated (looks like I will prob get 'SilverScreens' the brand)

Even on an A Class we find them quick to put on and take off. You just need to be a little organised, flip the windscreen wipers up and start one side and finish the other side.

Silver Screens the brand made some for our Pilote and they work really well as well as fitting perfectly

Easy to put on and off but when wet and cold/frozen it is a bit bracing first thing in the morning.

Ours are in 3 sections which Velcro together (paragon screens).

Couldn't you just pull down the windscreen part for light in the mornings?

Ignore that..just realised you mean you will be driving the van everyday. Stupid me!

In which case, buy the screens along with some sealskin gloves cos your poor fingers are going to be frozen. They only take a few minutes to put on, less to rip off when it's dark, blowy and you just want to get going!

I did the same thing a couple of years ago (commute and work during the week). External screens are a must and an absolute doddle to erect/remove. Only one downside - if they're wet they probably won't dry by the time you use them again.
Place in a bucket to catch drips.

You won't go wrong with Silverscreens. Good resale value too if you change the van.

Not that I'm a short-arse, but I find I need a (folding) hop-up to more easily access the top of the windscreen when attaching the Velcro fastenings.

Yes agree with all, quick and easy but make sure you have a large poly bag or similar to pop them in when they are soaking wet.

Why is there different versions for external use, and why does having internal side blinds make a difference if that's the case, assuming am reading post correctly chockshawy was asking about taking them of in the dark mornings which suggest there external

I see, knew you would know the answer techno, Thks for the info was thinking of getting some due to condensation issues and I have the type B
Am I right in thinking they do stop most of the condensation used in conjunction with the internal blinds

No their advice is included in the copy & paste above. Do not use in conjunction.
It stops all condensation

Well my shiney new silver screen arrived today (excellent service!) and took us all of 2 minutes to fit

I must say that I am impressed with the build quality, fit and ease of use

Pleased you like your silver screens...
Use in the winter to keep cold and condensation out..
In the summer to keep MH cool..

As was said earlier best thing since sliced bread.
Stand them upright in the shower if they're wet when you leave on your commute.
If you want a bit of light in in the morning or evening just fold the top half down and use a bungee strap between the mirrors to hold it down and stop it flapping in the breeze
