After doing a little research, you would have to spend upwards of 15k before you had a negative equity in that bus and if the 135BHP was not up to your power requirements the engine can be cheaply uprated to 177BHP. Why is it these things only come up for sale when am on my holidays :(.

I find it nigh on impossible to imagine a 2 ton payload:cry:

A proper beast !lol It looks really good condition for the year....love it! (but alas I'm a diabetic restricted to 3500kg)

just out of interest how much would it cost to make this environmental zone compliant...

Am not sure about the environmental thing. Its says Euro 1. Mine has the same engine, but uprated to 177 BHP and that is Euro 2. Thankfully living up norf we do not have to put up with Boris's shenanigans.

Its generally the case with German dealers on anything over 10 years old. By law in Germany they have to give a guarantee with vehicles sold to the public. I once bought a camper in Holland from a dealer under the same rules. It was 20 years old, but had only been used by the previous owner for a months holiday in France each year. It then went into a barn at the side of the house for the rest of the year. The van was vertualy new, but he could not sell it to the public without a guarantee.

"Option 2 – Pollution abatement equipment
It may be possible to fit a vehicle with pollution abatement
equipment, such as a particulate trap or a partial filter, which
will reduce its particulate matter (PM) emissions to Euro 3
standards or better. The cost of these traps or filters will vary
but are likely to be in the region of £2,500 to £5,000. The

not a lot of use though as euro 4+ is needed now. So unless it will meet that it is not worth doing. Personally I don't think it is worth doing anyway.

To give you some idea of what that could be worth, here is the same model but 3 years newer, but more than 3 times the price at just short of £50000. Now you know why I never lost money on a camper.

Just found this, OK its not pristine, but with a little work someone would have a van that will last a lifetime and still get there money back when they sell it. A payload of 2000kgs, so perfect for the fulltimer. Theres not many 7.5 ton RMBs out there at under £15000.

Are they sure its a manual gearbox cos the lever on the extreme left looks to me like an auto change for an Allison Auto Gearbox

You can't always believe adverts, but this one actually claims both manual and auto depending which bit you read but look at the photos it's and auto.

Please can you explain something to me. My hubby worries about the mileage on these. He says he cannot see why the engines are any different to a cars engine, and this has high mileage on the engine....but you say it will last a life time. How? Doesn't the mileage matter?

Have just been instructed by a good friend on Skype to tell you I think this van is rubbish. The engine will undoubtedly blow up on its first trip out, it will drink gallons of fuel before it does conk out, and its best left alone ;). I wouldn't touch it with a stick.

Not really its all down to the servicing. If its been done correctly then they can go for ever. Had a 9ltr 6 pot Cummins, which is described as the 'MMM' (million mile motor) and its true

If servicing is carried out at the recommended 20000km intervals there is no reason why that engine should not last indefinitely in a motorhome application. It is after all a true commercial drive train, designed to cover many hundreds of thousands of miles with little or no downtime. Mine has coming up to 230000 on the clock now and the motor is just getting going and bone dry. By the way, it was the Cummins B series 5.9 that earned the reputation of the MMM. I once owned a couple of RVs and a Dodge Ram with the old B series engine. The Ram had done 300000 when it came into the UK and in the 5 years I owned it I put another 10000 on it and as far as I know its still going strong.

Yep, Snowbird is smack on, Automatic. Longtitudal bank, means Bench seat... Nice wagon... Like Ivorantony, we are delighted with the one we have, but it really is a fair bit of kit..
