Hi has anyone travelled from Bordeaux to Biarritz recently? How much did the tolls cost on the new section of the N10

In January of this year we traveled the whole length of the A63 Toll road and paid a total of €19.2 (Class 2 motorhome). Most of the toll booths are at the bottom end. However, by selecting No Tolls on my Sat Nav, the route will take me down much of the A63 without having to go through a toll booth.

not long enough
we went down that way in October, as the road has been upgraded to peage there unusually is no parallel option to use, but we took peage, two toll sections on the new areas, both tried to get over 15 euros for each section, we pressed intercom and both reduced to 5 euros without challenge

We stopped in St Jean Luz so came off for a bit, but like others have said the time it takes to get down into Spain on non peage is not worth it, think that bit only cost us about 10 euros (although we rejoined part way along)

In Spain they twice got out of their toll booths I think to count our wheels, cost us about 30 euros to get to Burgos from Irun, came back via Zaragozza / Pau paid no tolls at all :D

We always do 'no tolls' in France.. what is really odd is that every time we have done it the route down to Spain seems to be quicker and shorter than the couple of years we took the toll roads

Looking at the route in Mappy from Carbon Blanc (N10) to the Spanish border it will cost €15.04 more to use the whole of the A63 Toll road (at 2014 prices) and save 1 hr 40 min on the journey. For me this is a no brainier, the toll route is the best option. Next years increase should be less than €2.00 (10% ish) on the whole journey.

It's always worth looking at a couple of different routes. Going from ferry to Dordogne I always went the usual Le Mans, Angouleme, home route, paying the tolls ( about €45-50) Going down to west of Limoges, Thiviers, Brantome , home cut the toll charge down to €23 and put just a few more miles on the journey.

Edit:: this was cost in car.

What I will do this year is to come down the A63 and exit at Jct 17 and join again at jct 18. (45 KM) I will continue down the A63 to Saint-George-de-Maremne. This will be a toll free journey and will have saved €10.60 toll fare at Jct 18. I will overnight at George-de-Maremne with a Fuel stop a few hundred meters further down the D810. I will rejoin the A63 at Jct 8. the toll fare from there to the Spanish boarder is €6.00. A big saving and yet using all of the A63 less Jct 17-18 and and 23 KM near the bottom.

I've cycled across Biarritz and that was pretty horrendous too, mixing it with buses in narrow streets. Crossing Nantes, which we did later in the trip, was a doddle by comparison .

Yes! your right! My error! exit at Jct 17 and rejoin at Jct 18. A saving of €10.60. A loophole that will be closed soon no doubt!

Drove from Calais to Valencia no tolls at all got caught a couple of times in Spain though that made me cross lol. Got caught for a tunnel toll leaving Andorra then no tolls for a bit until sat nav lost the plot and I realy lost it big time and used tolls for last 160 miles to Arromanches €42.65 spent on that journey on tolls. Wanted to get a move on this evening so used tolls from Omaha beach to Grave lines €37.60 for that stretch about 200 odd miles. I tried challenging with no luck and I noticed we was being charged class 2 which I assume is correct.

Good program but just found that the only option seems to be car.
You can choose car with caravan, same cost I believe and gives a good indicator of travel time
Or the following

Hi is the overnight stop Aire 3001 at N 43*41'17 / W 1* 13'44 it looks like it is alongside a church
we will be overnighting at St Maure de Toureane near Chartres then we normally stop at Capbretton but it is quite a way off the main route , you stop looks a lot better ,

A small error in my post which I hope you spotted ! It should be exit at 18 and rejoin at 17. The stop I use at George-de-Maremne is a very easy to access. Just before the roundabout,by the Church. Plenty of bays to park in and just over the road is a Patisserie that also does take away pizza.
Sorry! Do not know how to look up those co-ordinates in Goggle maps. However in street view you will see the telephone box opposite the no entry sign, in front of the toilet block.
Have a safe journey.

This is my first time down to Algeciras. I played around with Michelin maps and my Sat Nav which has latest maps and the route I have chosen is the exit the A63 just over the Spanish border and take the N121-A to Pamplona. (Used this road last year and it's Toll free and a newish road, used by some Trucks. When I hit the Pamplona Ring road I'll reset my Sat Nav for the Aire in Valladolid (Toll free and mostly duel carriageway) (Should I be tired (unlikely) I will stop at Burgos). My plan is to travel the whole of Spain toll free and It's almost all motorway))).
My next stop will be Zafra and then onto Liddle Algecerias. I have used the following Link to decide on my Spanish overnight stops and if you click on the location avatar all the details come up.

http://www.areasac.es/v_portal/apartados/apartado.asp?te=4

I plan to complete Calais -Algecerias in 5 days.

According to the Info page the GPS download is for TomTom Sat Navs. on the next page (Espana) there is a Sat Nav icon on the right hand side of the page which downloads the GPS data to your device/Laptop. This needs to be unpacked before loading into your Sat Nav. I am not familiar with Garmin so can not take you any further.
