How many times have you put your coffee/tea whatever on a coaster, and a couple of minutes later you pick the mug up and the coaster is stuck to it ?

That coaster is wide enough to give considerably more stability to said mug, and it also stops any rings appearing on a surface even after you have slurped and put the mug down again..

A mug with a coaster 'built in' would be a boon in a motorhome !

Except when you make your coffee on the wet sink drainer then move it to the table or the dashboard.. Instead of a small ring you end up with a whole square mark from the built in and now wet coaster

Ok.. what about a small magnet in the bottom of the mug.. that way you can attach the 'coaster' as and when !

We have a magnetic Teflon coaster for a small saucepan or tea pot.. Works OK tbh

Problem is, if you've dribbled a bit onto the coaster when you lift the mug off it, the 'dribble' stays behind but if the coaster is then attached to the mug you'll get dribbled on!

Ahhh.. this does not happen unless it is a REALLY big dribble..
The heat from the mug dries out small dribbles very quickly !

.. I thought your problem was coasters that stick to mugs .. and the dribbles go down your shirt ...

the solution is a saucer.. and why would you want a saucer that sticks to a mug.. ? Defeats the purpose..

We dont use coasters for that reason. But my wifes scarfe has got Hermes.

yes.. it's called a saucer..

... it may do but even cleaning a cup that's had tea in it which has dried on is a b*gger to clean, so a screw thread mug base with dried on tea would be even worse ... do you wash up much in your house????
