Wish I had the confidence to buy that way. Could afford a much better van then.........

Massive buyers premium could be a bit of a shock to the uninitiated.

20% + vat= 24% fffffffffttttt!!!!

Dealers would have an advantage as they get special terms.

I was once advised by a dealer that 5k per annum was classed as the 'norm' mind you it depends if you are selling or buying- they change the goal posts!!!!!
Also your insurance premium is often less if you agree that you will not exceed 5k each year.

The buyers premium turns the £16k into nearly £20 and for this type of van I would have thought to be dealer territory but without the recourse. Expensive, in other words for an auction item.

As for mileage, it is about 3k a year so not bad. Lower than this and it might have been sitting around with everything slowly stopping working, as they do when not used

mine has also done around 50k and thats over 7 years i always think that a low mileage van is not used enough and can cause more engine problems than a high mileage

That's an interesting comment. Is 33K miles for a 10 year old van and 24K miles for a 9 year old van considered high mileage? What is seen as the average mileage per annum for a motorhome?
I would say thats very low, our van is 16 months old and has almost 13,000 on the clock.
I would worry about servicing on a very low mileage van, its spent a lot of time standing around doing nothing.
I bought a very low mileage car many years ago, it had been regularly serviced but no repairs had ever been done.
On my first decent trip, Midlands to Bristol, 3 UJ's went noisy and I had to have them changed before I went back. Over the next year, I spent a fortune changing all the noisy and loose suspension joints, wheel bearings and brakes and a new set of tyres, the originals had as new tread but the walls were cracking and one had a sidewall delaminating.

I thought that it was 20% + vat.......
Not on vehicals, , some very cheap motors at times, but wouldn't have have thought these very cheap , no guarantee on anything, even the milage , in my opinion I would say the milage is low not high, has it been changed!!

They have motorhomes regular, I am only down the road from them, and go to view some of the auctions, if anyone is interested in future ones just tell me and I will have a look if you want, I could tell you if it's a total scrapper but no comebacks on me , I could send you some photos or something

I'd be wary of buying at auction through lack of experience and skills, also don't forget those vans that we all saw pictures of last winter sat in floods on peoples drives, they must be coming through now.

In my opinion buying a 16k motorhome fom auction could be an expensive mistake.
