Weighed our Autocruise Wentworth yesterday and she (Maureen, Mo the motor home) weighs in at 3240kg with me, half a tank of fuel and a full tank of fresh water so gets home and looks for Autocruises plate for max gross or whatever they decide to call it this week. Spent an hour rummaging around but got a big fat fail. Found the Peugeot plate where it should have been under the bonnet but that was it, nada, nowt.

Any ideas funsters please?

I'd say the plate under the bonnet is the thing to go by , max gross is the vehical weight never mind what it's got on wether it's a mh body or a ton of taters so you've got whatever is the difference between your max gross and what you weighed it at

OK, I can go with that.

3400
5300
1-1500
2-1900

So I am thinking 3400 net for Boxer? Very high IMO.
5300 very nice because tare is 3240
1-1500 front axle
2-1900 rear axle

But I was expecting an Autocruise plate because the motorhome body is much heavier that Peugeots van body would have been and the axle weights are back to 3400 which is pretty useless. The logbook is away so that may help when we get it back from DVLA.

3400 is your max weight, 5300 is total weight if you are towing a trailor but your van still has to be under 3400 and you can't go over your individual axel weights even if the total is still under your 3400 so you can only add another 160 kg to your weight

That's what I was worried about as that's totally pathetic as Mrs Badknee has to be taken into account too so I could be looking at a payload of 100+ kgs. That can't be right. I hope when we get the log book back it has been up rated as it has air suspension fitted perhaps it has.

If not, next question is how do I and what do I need to do to get it up rated?

You need to contact SVTech. You can download a form to request an update. They will tell you the max it will go.
Looking at your axle weights though, 1500 and 1900 is 3400, so that would appear to be your max weight at the moment, but SVTech would be able to advise properly.

Dont travel with a tank full of water, just a bit to see you through to your next stop, will save a few pounds.

SV Tech took my last van from 3.5 to 3.7 on a paper exercise, with you having air it may go a up bit futher but they also told me if I wanted it raising more than the two I would need Air and different tyres so I stuck to the 2kg uplift, I dont know your age but if you are near 70 that bring C1 entitlement into play. Pete

Ps my current van is 4.250 so next year C1 medical wants passing.

Just found the advert for her Stuart Longton Chorley and GVW is 3700kgs but will check when logbook arrives. 150ksg would be useless, there is a tow bar fitted which will explain the slightly higher tare weight.

Yes that's fine but I wanted a tare weight and that's what your supposed to have when you go on the scales. :)

Hi Peter, ten years to go so not too important yet :) 3700 will be fine.

How on earth do people manage with these minuscule payload allowances. When you fuel up do you ask for half a tank of fuel ?.

Yes because us peasants in our little motorhomes can't afford a full one.

I have found the following specs for the Wentworth which show 3700 Kg Max ...
Autocruise Wentworth Facts

MOTORHOME: Autocruise Wentworth
BASED ON: Peugeot Boxer LWB with 2.8-litre HDi diesel-turbo engine
MAXIMUM USER PAYLOAD: 665 kg
MTPLM : 3,700 kg
BERTHS: 2
WILL IT FIT ON YOUR DRIVEWAY?: Length 6901mm / Width 2230mm (Mirrors Folded) / Height (standard low-line) 2970mm

These figures should be confirmed by your V5 document.

Our Autocruise Augusta has 2 weigt plates under the hood, one is for the original Peugeot Boxer and next to it is the converters plate.

Thanks icr, yes I was expecting a plate from Autocruise but there isn't one. Ours will be perhaps fifty kgs down on the 665 due to it having a tow bar fitted but that will be fine as we don't drag all our worldly possessions around when we go away. The log book is with DVLA but I'm hoping it will all become clear when it gets here.
Thanks for taking the trouble to find that spec sheet.

Just something else for you to check out - your vehicle recovery - as you're going to be over 3500kg some won't recover you so best check yours! Also, you may be subject to lower speed limits and also not permitted in places with a 3500kg weight limit (regardless of whether your vechicle is actually under that weight!)

Sounds like your van may already have been uprated if it has air suspension and a towbar. It may also be the case that it has been down rated again. Uprated or down rated vin plates ( usually a vinyl sticker) should never be removed, they will all show dates of change so you can follow chronologically when changes occurred. Do you have a tax disc? That should either show PLG if still under 3500 or PHGV if over. Your log book will show the same tax class as the tax disc.
If you contact SVTech about uprating, ask them if they have any records for your vehicle, they may have seen it before.

We have a Hobby which had a 3500kg limit, when I took it to the weigh bridge with a full tank of fuel, full gas bottles and wife and i it weighed in at 3500.
Had it uprated to 4000kg by SV Tech, but be aware you have still got to watch your axle weights.

Have you looked on the door pillar for a plate. :)

Yes, there's nothing there except tyre pressures. There is no visible plate or sticker from Autocruise anywhere, I'm not new to searching out VIN plates but this one has me stumped.
