In no particular order.....
We can 'do' a country in 4 to 6 weeks
We can't sit still for more than 2 days
We don't use campsites, we prefer Aires, and we're quite happy to wild camp
We love new places and new adventures
Living 'fulltime' in a van is not that difficult
BUT................... How lovely it is to
Have Real showers
Use flushing toilets
Have 'space' indoors
Not have to convert every price we see into Pounds
Not have to pack away the home every other day
Not have to worry about the next night stop
Sleep in a really big really comfy bed
Watch proper movies on our home cinema with 'proper' sound
To be honest the list could go on and on. What we have established is that having tried it for a year we DON'T want to do it either full time or all the time.....
When we worked full time the idea of getting away was a driving force. Having been away for this time has allowed us to 'review' what we want out of life, and that means working again
We love our van and we love being independent, but now we think it is time to adjust the balance.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy................ how about all play and no work makes Jack need a purpose?
It's strange really, but we just want to be back in the 'real world'
I suppose it might be different when we really are old enough to retire, but I'm 56 and Mrs Chox is only 49!
There's a bit more time ahead than we thought
