Bill, I'm pleased to see you can bathroom door locks for vans, as I am getting really cheesed off with bumping the door open by accident when I get out of the shower and it aint a pretty sight for anyone walking past. I have decided I need a lock on the door. Look forward to your responses. Joy

Please describe the problem. I've had issues in the past with Rapido bathroom door locks and if yours is the same problem I may be able to help.

Is it the internal spring that's gone ? I've got the same problem. I did an internet seach and found a supplier in the States. It would have cost over £200 to get from there.
Just above where our handle is we have a towel rail, so my cheap solution has been to tie a piece of elastic around the door handle and then loop around the towel rail. it works for us until we can find a cheaper supplier.
Lol

My Rapido has the lock removed. I've never missed it, it's not like anyone is going to barge in on me  and no harm if they do

Is it just the lock part or the whole mechanism that you have removed?
If so, what have you replaced it with?

The lock is integral to the handle so I just have the handles and latch without the lock

It is the internal spring on the lock tongue that is not working, so it sounds similar to your problem

Mine must have been repaired and the thumb turn removed by Carol whom I bought it from.
I will venture to take mine apart tomorrow and photograph the parts

The spring in the lock body seems to be broken as the tongue does not spring out when it is depressed. have not removed lock from door so do not know if it is a sealed unit or if I can have access to repair it

I had the very same problem. As others said I trawled the internet for weeks trying to find a reasonably priced solution.
In the end I took the cheap and nasty Italian made lock to a locksmith who replaced the two, springs and charged me a tenner.
If it is the springs that are the problem any decent locksmith should be able to do the repair just as quickly and cheaply.
If not, let me know and I'll give you the details of the chap that did mine. You can post it to him.

If its the spring you don't need to replace the whole lock, take it to a good locksmith and they will repair it. I got mine repaired after searching the internet for a new one, cheapest I could find was about $85.00 on a US site. Rapido quote something near £300 but I think that might be for handle as well. My repair cost £12.00

Re bog lock gallery - its just the part in photos 2 & 3 that you need to take to the locksmith. I do know of one person on the darkside who disassembled it and put new springs in himself but don't know where he got the springs from.

To be honest if mine broke I'm sure I could fix it myself but whoever repaired it for the previous owner did a fine job so I'm not about to disturb it.
