While on Respite decided to buy a fitted blanket (make life easier)

My bed is 60 x 80 inches

So I bought a king size cover for it but tore it fittting it.

What size is 60 x 80 in the UK?

I think its a queen size John, for some reason a queen size is bigger than a king size The information above has been gleaned from listening in to female topics of conversation, so just consider it may be totally wrong and Ive been set up by the women folk-----again:Doh:
At least with a pack of cards you know a king is higher(bigger) than a queen and an Ace is 11 or is it 1 Oh bugger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Here you go John :winky:

Simply put, your bed is 60 x 80 but a UK Kingsize is 60 x 78 i.e too small.

Therefore, you need to use a circular saw and trim your mattress down by 2" :ROFLMAO:

same as it is in america john....60" is 60" everywhere. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:sorry mate, couldnt resist. :Blush:

sounds like a UK super king.
id say about as easy to find as hens teeth and rocking horse sh*t.:Sad:

do you know anyone handy with a sewing machine cos 5 meters of fabric will be much cheaper than a new cover.:thumb:

we have an american queen bed at home but gave up on bedding....just stuck a kingsize mattress on the yank base and a rolled up blanket down the end gap to stop it sliding about, problem solved. :thumb::thumb:

What we need, John, is a sewing meet...I have a sewing machine and no clues about how to set it up:Doh:

I can plug it in and I know where the accelerator pedal is:ROFLMAO:

I have my mothers one.

She never used it but lead a very busy life.

But remember granny's being converted from pedal to electric and she did use that one.

Good idea for as meet:winky::roflmto:
