5 minutes? That's not long enough for my screen to refresh! Sometimes I wished it had been longer, even on the old system.

not sure you even have 15 minutes Bill, I heard it was 5

but also once posted I don't think you can change a title at all

I don't think we can edit a title at all after posting, that is frustrating if you miss a typo

also agree could do with longer edit as well

Think when in edit mode you can choose "advanced" which will allow title changes...... at least it did in the old version

Has anyone actually checked this? The old forum was set at a 5 minute edit time, with a 1 minute window for editing the title. Right now here its set at twice as long as the old forum. 10 minutes time to edit post and title. Any longer than this can cause a number of issues. If anyone wants specifics edits after that time just report the post and I'll see to it. (y)

I wouldn't ask without checking Jim .. have you tried ?

I went back to try and edit a typo.. Can't recall the exact wording, but in essence it said that only 5 mins were allowed for editing

IIRC .. the old software had a 30 min to edit window ..

I will test again with this post.

@Jim whilst I don't want to query your word, I am confident we had an hour to edit on the old forum

Personly I don't like posters editing there posts ,if you make a comment on a post that's just came up it can seem silly if they have suddenly changed what you commented on while you were posting.
I always put a new post on if I think my first one was not right

yes, i do agree, the content or meaning shouldn't be edited after it's been quoted or commented on by another poster.. maybe that could be implemented ..

most of my edits are to correct either grammar, spelling or punctuation.. sometimes all three

What I really object to is a post being quoted and wording changed.. that is naughty
