Over 25 year's
a friend of mine has lost the keys to his van it is a 2000 with 47000 on clock how can he get immobilizer off and get new keys as it's a good van

many many years! since I was a kid
locksmith with a coding machine to make duplicate keys using the factory codes. otherwise its a case of changing the locks and as far as i remember getting a second hand diesel pump with matching key

neither option is that cheap, but the locksmith will be quicker and less involved. they can source the code from the chassis number etc and make up keys same day

forgot to say, most insurance policies will pay for lost keys, so it will hopefully only cost the excess on the policy

watt sort of cost approx. for lock smith 0ver 300

expect about £200 from memory, but worth phoning a few auto locksmiths for a quote. the key itself would only be £20-£30 the remainder is to pay for them to look up the code to program it
