Hi Everyone,
Would like some advice on the Elddis Autoquest 115 2.2 litre Motorhome.
We have been looking for our first Motorhome for some time now and are quite taken by this model.
It is a compact two berth 08 plate, with only 11000 miles on the clock.
Does anyone have any experience of this model?
Any information would be appreciated. ::bigsmile:

we had the 155 model on a 2011 plate, brand new,,but decided to sell after 12 months and bought a 08 Autotrail...i might get some stick over this,,but elddis are more like a budget van,,,we paid £37k new and got £27k 12 months after with extras and only 2k on the clock... so i guess you get what you pay for....But i must stress this was the 155 model......

Elddis autoquest 115

Thank you for your response to my post
Sorry to hear about your big loss on your 155 in only 1 year.
I know they are a budget motorhome hence the second hand price
Did you sell it on because you were not happy with it or was it for other reasons?
I am really in two minds now as to wether to go ahead with the purchase of this motorhome now.
Did you have problems or did it just not suit you.
Thanks for your reply.:cry.

it didnt really suit us as it had a fixed bed,,,at first we thought yeh great,,but wifey had to climb over me to get to toilet in night,,also only a narrow bit between seats, so crammed for room at times,,,Autotrail got more open space and yes we have to make the bed every night,,but worth it for the room,,and the quality is like going from a reliant robin to a merc,,,,please dont be put off by what i have said,,,but have a good look around,,you are spending a lot of money and will spend a lot of time in your van,,and i hope when you buy,,you find the right one first time :thumb:

Thanks for your help on this matter.
Will view again tomorrow and maybe take a bit more thinking time.
As you say a lot of outlay to find you are not happy.
More haste lest speed.::bigsmile: Thank you.
You have not put me off but made me think a bit more before I part with the old hard earned cash.:thumb:

I have an Elddis 08 plate called Sunstyle 140. It has U shape rear lounge with large windows. Can use it as two singles or large double (near king size). The over cab is utilised for golf clubs, sat dish and fishing gear, so that is pre booked !!

Only you can decide on layout, but do scrutinise closely, all vans, they all have their faults never mind what snooty views some have. None of them are CLYDEBUILT.

I am fairly competent at DIY so that is an advantage and have a very low opinion of the motortrade so nothing surprises me.

since 2007, 25 years tuggin before that.
Iwould never buy a new van as the depreciation is 20 to 25% in the first year.

Thank you all for your replies.
There is so many choices when buying a motor home.
I have been looking for about 2 years and can't decide.
Your advice is a real help to us.
Will keep you posted on what we decide to buy.::bigsmile:

Our first van was a 140 on a 08 plate when we bought it all our boxes where ticked and we where happy with layout
but after first long run Elaine hated it mainly due to lay out (no fixed bed) and
Poor quality of Finnish doors loose bed slats collapsing during night Ect
So we bought a burstaner with a much higher build quality and a fixed bed layout

We had a hell of a game getting rid of it due to damp problems so we ended getting the dealer to buy it back at a hell of a loss

Remember a well quoted observation on this forum:winky:
It takes a average of the ownership of 3 vans before you get it right
We where lucky and got it right in 2

Than you all for interest in our post.
We looked at a 07 and an 08 elddis and the finish was unbelievably terrible.
Peeling veneer so thin it was like tracing paper.
We eventually went for a considerably older vehicle on a v/ 2000 plate
Strange decision you might think but the build quality was so much better.
We bough a pilote galaxy 270. What a nice solid well constructed vehicle.
Spacious interior and quality workmanship.
Thank you all for helping us make our decision . Your help has made us make a good choice for our needs.
Look forward to meeting some of you at MHF rallies in the future.
