General question for all vehicles
....
When is it from this year we do not need to put tax discs in the windscreens and does that mean if one is up we can take it off?

I read it as displaying one is no longer reqd,
So you can remove it on Oct 1st whether its valid or expired

Thanks for that means l need to remember to get initial discs up for car and CB on their retax but ok after that

Why did they have to wait until October?

They could have saved even more cash by doing it right away.

I think that it is a bad move as there will be more cars without tax and insance I like the visual indication that vehicles are legal
and insured

AND as it has not been mentioned another major loss of income to the subpostmaster whose pay over the last few years has been cut by half.

Sadly.. I'm afraid it's a dying job.. :Sad:

just like coal miners, ship builders and all the other trades and jobs that have disappeared, no need nowadays.. The sub post office may be a life line for some who have no internet.. .. but for most it's not needed, just about everything is done online now..

we have one in our village, our only shop, but if it closed, which the owner has threatened to do .. I wouldn't miss it..

tax disks are yesterdays technology, about as quaint as sending post cards on holiday ..
