Following on from a thread about TV's in the van, always fascinates me why people travel to beautiful places with amazing view, then keep the Silver Screen up blocking the view, why. I have seen so many things sitting looking through the van window which I would have missed with the screen up.

Couldn't agree more - I've often wondered the same thing, and for the same reason. :whatthe:

Obviously, if it's scorching hot, then of course it make sense to keep the van cool, but otherwise??

If we are staying a few days and it might be chilly at night then the screens go up.. And they stay up cos I am a lazy sod who cannot be a^!sed to take em down and put em up again !

If it's cold, but there is a chance of some solar gain through the windscreen (even if it's not especially sunny), we purposely face the front of the van south - if it's feasible - to maximise the warmth. :thumb:

In hot weather, it keeps the van cool - particular important with an A-class.

We park the van with the back facing the best view because of the lounge but if nothing in front we don't bother with screens in daytime. We' ll keep the screens up if we're looking into someone elses lounge and for their privacy also. We've now put up curtains behind cab seats by using a shower rod so will probably use them now and screens in extremes of temperature.

Can't be bothered taking them off... They roll down anyway if needed. To be honest if there are any views we would want to be outside enjoying them... Inside is for eating, drinking, watching porn and dancing naked as stated above.

Yes - we found that one out. Great service from Silver screens themselves. They knew exactly what we wanted, made it within a day and turned up the following day. Fits the Pilote perfectly. Quality product. We do tear down the middle strip to give some light during the day.....

When I arrive on site my screens go up because they are easier than pulling the curtains and don't cut off the cab area like the curtains do. They stay up till I leave because I'm idle.

if I want to look at the view/people watch, I do it through the side windows. I use the side seats or the passenger seat, swivelled, so not facing in the right direction to look through the windscreen.

Personally we keep ours up at the front to keep the sun out as well as nosey people out.
Always have our side ones down during the day but still use the nets across for some privacy.
Sit outside to see the view !:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Silver screens in the day

Many recent small vans do not have curtains or any where to take a track for them. Neither do they have bathrooms so silver screens are the only means to gain privacy when using portapotti

Me Nosey Dave, :Eeek::ROFLMAO:, to be honest could not give a monkeys what other people are up to if they want to dance naked fine, as you know I am not adverse to dancing on tables myself.

The one thing I do like though is wide open spaces, at home we never close the curtains, and if any one wants to nose in, well so be it, seen some one doing it in our old van and asked them if I could help them, turns out it was there old Eriba Car, they came in we shared a bottle of wine, and found lots out about our old van, would not have happened had we had the blinds drawn.
