Heading off in a weeks time and intend to meander down through France in the general direction of Toulouse and then head west before cutting across in to Spain.
Five weeks to spare ::bigsmile: never dreamt this day would come but we've made it.
Hoping some may be able to offer advice on routes in to Spain and on sites in the north which are within walking distance of attractive villages/towns. Not adverse to using public transport if necessary to visit a nice spot, just a bit of a lazy so and so in moving the motorhome once i'm parked up.
Had thought of heading from the west to east before back in to France if that is any help for advice.
Whatever you care to share much appreciated :thumb:

Cannot offer recommendations for camp sites in the North, but no doubt others will be along shortly with the info you seek. If you do not already have them, suggest you acquire both>>>>>>>>>>>

2014 issue of the ACSI Guide

And

All the Aires Of Spain and Portugal

These publications probably available from Vicarious Books at short notice........ good company, great service.

Personally when entering Spain I would turn right and head to the North West corner and take in Galicia and the Picos de Europe, fabulous countryside.

Regards, Bryan

ps. Have a great trip

nowhere near long enough
If you get anywhere near to Santander then the aire at Cabaceno is only about 9 miles south-ish and worth a visit and it is free, nice village to stroll around and some nice eating places. It is on the edge of a big safari park and the pictures are from our van on our visit in September last year co-ordinates are :- N 43deg 21.486 and W003 deg. 49.18

We were on the Aire a couple of weeks ago. Super place and the scenery around there is beautiful.

Still making mistakes! But they're not as costly.
We can highly recommend the Municipal site in Logrono. It is a lovely wee site, a lovely 10 minute stroll from a wonderful town. Also, one of our favourite sites is Camping Palamos in Palamos. This is right on the coast up north in Spain. The campsite is perched right on the edge of a cliff, again with a short lovely stroll into one of the most delightful little fishing towns. Has wonderful shops and fabulous seafood restaurants.

Bryan

Just a special thank you for your blog.
Saved until this evening, as is always the case it seemed some shopping before the trip was essential this afternoon. I often wonder do all girls purchase new undies before every trip ?
Never fathomed it out and not brave enough to question why
