I'm a newbie
What is the law on seat belts in motorhomes. Can I carry two rear facing passengers without a seatbelt who would be sat at the table?

Since 1996, had Elddis/Swift/Rapido/Rimor/Chausson MHs. Autocruise/Globecar PVCs/Compactline i-138
You also need to check with your insurer as to how many they have classed it as for carrying driver + passengers.

Mick
I have looked into this as a lot of people on the forums have, the law may say you can but if you have a accident it is up to the police if they deem it that you have not taken care of your passengers they could fine you,I also contacted my insurance company Comfort and the answer i got was if it has not got a seat belt you will not be insured

I`m a newbie, now 1 year
My insurance is for four rear passengers no seat belts, and two cab with seatbelts, mine is 2003, they checked with their insurance accessors and it is fine, no problems they said, I do have it on my insurance certificate.

Personally I wouldn`t take more than two rear seat passengers.

since a child
when insurers insure a vehicle they knew before oct 2007 there was no seat belts required and still isnt . its all acounted for . if not required then they must pay . .so long as people are sat down when on the move what more can you or the passengers do.
we can imagine alsorts but thats only imagining .
its like other exempt things you dont need them you dont have to have them .
its wise to arrange some type of strapping for children .
it was safe untill 07 nothings changed .
