Similar question to SMB, we have has the dometic freshlight air conditioner installed for our jaunts down south (plus wishful thinking for uk!)
The blurb say " The air conditioner has 2100-watt cooling capacity for 230-volt stationary operation"
But then Technical Data:
Cooling capacity (kW) 2.2
Capacity (BTU/h) 7500
Power (V/Hz) 230 / 50
Consumption, cooling mode (W) 950
Consumption, heating mode (W) 1200

And apparently low energy start up.
Lights are all LED, fridge/ freezer AES, TV is 12v

How many amps do I in theory need please

Cooling mode 950/230 = 4.13A
Heating mode 1200/230 = 5.22A

It's a heat pump (like all fridges / decent aircon units) so the power is used to shift heat from one place to another rather than providing heating or cooling directly. Hence the output in Watts is higher than the input.

Several years now
Or to be on the safe side, you might consider towing a medium sized generator.
