We are wanting to travel down to Hampshire (Waterlooville/Denmead) shortly, it's my Dad's 88th birthday and I wanted to surprise him and my Mum with a visit.

When we went down the last time we stayed at the CC site at Littlehampton, which was a bit too far. There are some CLs in Hayling Island, but some reviews on those aren't great and not plucked up enough courage to "wild camp" yet:Sad:

Does anyone have any ideas where we can stay, we've looked at CC CLs and some are full around 20th/25th May and others are not ideal for one reason or another. Just wondered if anyone could suggest something......thanks in advance.

Hi, many thanks for this information, I've tried phoning them, but it says "invalid number"......not sure why, but many thanks anyway.

Hi Phil, thanks for this information, we're not C and CC members sadly.

We're struggling to find somewhere because it's so close to the Bank Holiday:Sad:

Anywhere in this car or boat park. There will be other campers there as the boat owners working on their boats will also be sleeping over in the boats or their MoHo's.

There is a large ASDA at Bedhampton, ex Portsea Island COOP. Has a huge car park, worth asking, explain situation to them.

West Beach Car Park Hayling Island is a designated motorhome stop.
It's not cheap £15 per night but the views across the Solent are great. We often stay down there and have never ever had a problem.

Many thanks to everyone who has replied and offered information. Some of the place names bring back memories as Bill worked in the area for a while. Also, we lived in Surrey for 12 years and used to go down to the Portsmouth area to visit family. If it wasn't for it getting close to the Bank Holiday, I think we would get in anywhere.

Maybe we should join the C and CC after all, but will follow up all your suggestions and let you know where we end up........many thanks again, very much appreciated:thumb:

Loveders campsite Southbourne West Sussex very close to Emsworth where we live. Emsworth is a nice little village with pubs' restaurants and the harbour. About 15 mins to Waterlooville or denmead. Or there is a Brit stop at the west meon hut about 6 miles west of petersfield with food and drink on site.
