My brothers girlfriend turned the grill off in my lovely old Talbot Camelot ( many years ago now ). I then lit the hob to make a cuppa when........BOOM.....the grill door blew open as it ignited and narrowly missed my songs eyebrows and hair. The knob for the grill used to be the opposite way to the others ones !!!!! Didn't hard char the inside of the grill door

A couple of years back, stopping at Charmouth, I went for a walk before breakfast. Val decided to do bacon and eggs on the little portable gas ring outside the van. She'd never used it before and didn't get the canister seated properly, when she lit it, the whole thing went up in flames ! She managed to kick it away from the van, then threw a towel over it to try and extinguish the flames.

With the low Alko chassis I can't get a waste hog under the grey waste tap so I undid the fixing at Peterborough so I could lift the pipework and slide a drum underneath. Yep, forgot to fasten it before we left and got home to find pipe, elbow and tap all gone, at least the tank was empty. :roflmto: Cost £15 in replacement bits, good old ebay.

Twice today, I've stepped out of it and wiped my feet on the outside mat.

There's a house near us like that, neighbour's daughter went out with the son of the house. She said it was so dirty she had to wipe her feet when she came out. :whatthe:

Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
We took the Motorhome back to storage after a weekend away (on the Sunday afternoon)
On the way out of the hab door Ralph ( I may add) caught the Webasto knob with his sleeve. Turning it to 20deg. It was chucking it down so he put his big coat on.
The following Friday ( 6 days later ) we went to get the Motorhome for another weekend away. It was red hot inside. Having been left on all week. Just shows how having a pair of Trojan batteries and a solar panel , mean you don't need a noisy smelly genny. ( Hondas excluded of course :winky:)
It was mid winter too so not much sun.

SWMBO stuck the oven on. She forgot to lift the glass top and remove the thin plastic chopping board that was part of the anti rattle set up. Next thing it had melted through, testing smoke alarm. Of course it was my fault so I had to clean it up........:thumb:

First time out in our MH we stopped on a site and hooked up the EHU.

I then spent a significant part of the evening trying to figure out why an intermittent whirring sound was coming from under the driver's seat.

The dealer hadn't mentioned the battery re-charger.

My Missus has also done the going to the loo while the cassette is being emptied trick - fortunately it was only number ones. Guess who had to turn them into zeroes though.

After nearly ten years of ownership I still forget that the water heater won't work if the top-hinged living compartment window is open. There's a safety cut out to prevent Carbon Monoxide fumes coming up from the vent and back in the window.

I have at some point damaged or lost every fitting that projects from the sides of the van, apart from the EHU flap, which is rarely opened anyway.

I drove a fair distance across the Yorkshire Moors with my Sat dish up.

2014, 2 motorhomes
2nd outing in brand new m/h shut the glass lid on hob down without turning off gas.
BANG
Glass shattered, thank goodness safety glass.
Waiting for new lid to come, 4 week wait and £100.

In my defence I have not used gas for 25 years (have aga - just close the lid and walk away) and I assumed ( actually didn't think at all) there was auto shut off

That's this year!

I always leave the door to the cassette open - hoping she will "see the light" or FEEL THE DRAUGHT before making herself comfortable on the throne :Eeek:

Joy, I just nearly choked on my glass of vino, reading that - wonderful bit of self deprecating humour. Thanks for helping to brighte up a really crap day :thumb:

We have all been there, mostly more often than we care to admit - you are not alone ...........

I did drive off once and left something vital behind.

Still only a year after many years camping
I did drive off once and left something vital behind.

So did I - the EHU lead. It was still plugged in to the garage wall one end, and the motorhome the other!

And then I didn't bring a screwdriver long enough to fix the plug when we got to site.:ROFLMAO:
