I have owned this vehicle from new but have become unable to use it. It has sat idle for the past 18 months (in the hope that things might change) but it looks like it could remain that way indefinitely, so I need to let someone else enjoy it instead.
It has been regularly serviced (cam belt changed) and kept under cover since new. Currently it’s under a SORN, so it is not taxed nor MOT’d but I expect it to pass without difficulty.
It may be the only version ever produced like this. I had to wait almost six months while they completed the build in Germany, and then removing this option from subsequent price lists. So, if you like the sound of this configuration, make a move to buy it whilst the opportunity is still here.
This was designed to provide luxury touring for just the two of us, without a drop-down bed at the front. We also had the island double bed lowered to remove the need to climb up into it at night. That reduced the vertical space in the garage below but you will see that even a big bike can slip underneath after the front wheel is removed.
Whilst the vehicle is technically a 3500kg lightweight, it was upgraded to 3850kg to allow a more reasonable payload. You will need a C1 licence to drive it unless you replate it as 3500kg.
When you purchase a Carthago, you are acquiring a premium vehicle. The shell is wood-free (to avoid rot) and constructed for maximum strength and insulation, with a hail-proof roof on top. Floors are heated and, in this one, on one level (no steps to trip over) from the cab to the bedroom. The furniture, beside looking good, benefits from a jointed construction that’s virtually bomb-proof. Furthermore, should you be into such things, the UK owner’s club offers a jolly group to join.
All Compactlines sit on a Fiat Ducato base.
This one enjoys the more powerful 150HP engine (for extra grunt without any increase in weight) and a six speed automatic gearbox (for ease of driving in unfamiliar circumstances).
It’s a Euro5+

Has Airbags, ESP, ABS, Hillholder, and probably other things I don’t recall
