I understand that the bus stop outside the gate is no longer used but it isn't all that long a walk to the closest stop. When we were there a couple of years ago all day rover tickets for the buses all over Edinburgh were only £2.50, bargain

Hi
Just got back from Edinburgh about an hour ago we stayed at the cl site in damhead lovely little site with wc, hook up, chem toilet point and hardstanding pitches so no getting stuck and only £8 a night.
If you walk 8 mins one way you can get the number 4 bus from hillend ski resort bus takes a roundabout way to get to centre but only £1.20 or £3 unlimited travel on the way back you can get the no 4 or the 15 which is a lot quicker.

If you come out the campsite and turn right its about a 15min walk and you have a choice of 3 busses also have a retail park with a sainsbury. We went to ikea for breakfast £1.50 each.
This is oppisite the park and ride which has a few gypsies parked up so there goes another good spot to stay.

Hope this helps.

This was a great site and really friendly reception (which isn't often the case!)

The pitches are so large, we felt like sub-letting part of ours!

The bus is a short walk now, but well worth it.
