The caravan and camping club site at Hertford is nice and rural yet still close to London with a good train link. Heartford is also a very nice place to visit.

Does anyone know of any sites that we can use to get us to Alexandra Palace?

Thanks

Default Surrey side of London

we have stayed at the CC club in Walton, it's very close to the main-line into London Waterloo which only takes about 20 mins from Hersham railway station, it's ideal as it is outside the emision charge zone, we have also stayed at the site at Edmonton, but it took a lot longer to get into town because you had to get a bus from just outside the site to the local train station & then hop on a tube. personally we found the Hersham site very quiet and easier to get into the centre of London from and it's in a nicer location try it !

"Tranquility within the M25 motorway"

Stay at Walton on Thames and you are inside London’s infamous orbital M25 motorway and only 15 miles from the City. But you would never know – there is even a resident flock of parakeets on Walton on Thames

Default Lee Valley

The council-run Lee Valley site is one of our favourites in the south.

It is right next to a smashing 18-hole public golf course with a shop and cafe, the River Lee and a cinema. Best of all it's in the Lee Valley Country Park, which you can get full access to along the length of the river.

The wardens are great and you can cycle right into London City centre, mostly along paths.
