Default Moving My Ipod Library To Another PC...Help!!

Hi Folks

Ive treated myself to a new PC (well what with the price of coal it was costing a fortune keeping the steam up to pressure with the old one )

Can any one tell me how to shift all the music from my Ipod library from my old PC to my new PC??

Thanks as always

Conventional File transfer (either via cable or portable storage device).

or,

Copy tunes from iPOD to new PC using Itunes.

Hi Papa

The ipod wont let me shift it to another PC (something to do with copyright rubbish!!!) All it will let me do is wipe the Ipod (not a good idea ). I cant even find my itunes library on the harddrive of the old pc but all the music is still showing . Anyone know where itunes hides all the music files so i can just copy it to a spare hard drive and transfer it over???

Tower to tower but not connected in any way. In fact the old PC is in another room now propped up on the couch!!

Buying a new pc seeming like a good idea at the time but im now ready for putting my bloody foot through the screen. Didnt realise shifting stuff from 1 to the other would be such a pain

Right!
An easier way would be to take out your old hard drive and set the jumpers to slave then fit it in your new putter!
Set the jumpers on your new hard drive to master!
Normally the cables are already installed for two hard drives but you can use the cables from a disc drive!
Then you basically use the hard drive on your new putter as a master drive and it will open your old one!
You could even leave the old hard drive in permanently and use it for extra storage!

Top Tip: Adding an extra hard disk
You then just use the same method as in the link!

PS: I'm in Lytham now!
Its still sunny!

Hi mate

Already tried that (in fact it was the first thing i did!!!) but my new fangled PC has different connections to the old hard drive so that ones out. I can connect the old hardrive via USB connecting thingy but i still cant find the actual ipod library anywhere to transfer it from 1 to the other . Maybe i should just find a good butter knife and have a go at slashing my wrists...bloody computers what was wrong with the old LPs

Youve gone up in the world....Lythams very posh (but it is where people tend to go to die....your not planning on leaving us anytime soon are you )

You need to open your hidden files!
If your new putter has Vista!
Open a window and click organise!
Then click folder and search options!
Then click veiw!
About half way down you have the option to show hidden files!
Click and apply!
Then at the top click apply to all folders!
You should find your music then!

On XP you follow the instructions on the first link i gave you!

PS: I'm not planning on popping my cloggs yet!
