That's good then because you go out of your way to slag of Great Britain, the NHS and the Police regularly now you know what your remarks feel like to any FUNstar who works long and hard for the NHS or the Police.
Great Britain. Certainly not so great anymore but whatever you own today, what you are today was facilitated by Great Britain.
The NHS and the Police might not be perfect but without them what would we be, something like Nigeria.
You are not the one to talk of bad taste.
As to my little joke, this is FUN, it was joke to lighten up this otherwise depressing thread that you started with the banner " The rubbish NHS". It's obvious to me that you are out of step with the FUN members on this, why not just let it lie and it will be off the radar in 24 hours.

I have severe diabetes that is really affecting my legs and hands, it's a rotten illness but I have never been looked after better. My Dad has Alzheimer's and without the care support do not know how I would cope, in my case re dad its the social worker who pi$$es me off.
I had severe pneumonia on Xmas 2005 complicated by diabetes ands was lucky to make it, the hospital in Bedford is crap (the leagues tables bear this out) but they saved me.
Here In Neath Port Talbot the out of hours GP's are crap sadly and nearly always send an ambulance out throwing the ow-nus onto the hospitals.
The NHS is huge and so cant be perfect in every department in every town but I do believe they do their best.
I for one am lucky the NHS is so good and dread being ill in other countries, I want to winter away but dont know how I would cope without the NHS as I need constant attention to me legs.
Real sorry Doug things have go badly wrong for you but boy you are doing your duster on here, I think we all understand how you have been treated and its wrong but if you look at the positive posts here they must be doing something right.

Since Doug is on my iggie list I can't see what he is posting but if the above quote from Brian is what he is referring to then I don't know why Brian would have to remove it.

I too think like Bev that it is time this thread was put to bed, we all have our own opinions about the NHS both good and bad, I like paul (haggers) have worked in it and I have seen both sides of how it works both as a nurse in a dialysis unit where when new machines are needed white collar people make the decision on which sort to buy, they never ask the people who do this life saving job which is the best for the job, but have been known to go for the cheapest, just so a manager can have a new carpet when they move into an office. On the other hand my late husband had a stroke at 40 years old and at the time had to be resucitated and went on to live a further 10 years, which he wouldnt have had but for the NHS, he had a kidney transplant, which was unknown when his mum died of the same complaint at 40 years old, they didnt treat people in those days if they were over a certain age. So please lets stop all this arguing and remember that there is always someone worse off than us, and salute the hard work if not always appreciated that is given by our NHS, and think more about the greedy MPs and bankers who claim money which could help the NHS to give a better service with more hands on staff.
Sheila

Doug , presented himself at A.E with a very severe renal colic type pain.
He wasnt happy with his treatment.
I think Brian was refering to that , tongue in cheek.
and it goes on and on and on
