Default Wind deflector

I am in the process of mounting a solar panel on the roof of my Renault Master Campervan.

As the van roof is ridged (transversely) to strengthen the roof I will be using long U section aluminium extrusions (on their side) running the length of the panel and across the roof ridges.

This means that the front of the panel will be a few inches off the roof. Do I need a wind deflector in front of the panel?
