When we're away for our six months winter sojourn I take digital, load them onto the computer (and/or CD), then when we get decent Internet upload the best to the Orange photo service (Photobox) and have them sent to family. It's remarkably cheap.

Keeps them in touch and when we visit on return nice to see physical photos.

In my opinion it is cheaper and less hassle to use one of the online printing services, I do it about once a year, I check round to see who has the best price at the time. Aldi, Snapfish, Tesco, etc, etc. My brother is a professional photographer with a great printer, but even he goes to a specialist print shop for big orders.

Most of mine stay on the computer (with a CD copy as backup). Used to take loads of photos with the old film based cameras but they ended up in boxes and never looked at so this is just a modern version of the shoe boxes.
I have started to download some photos

Two or three from each ‘outing’ are downloaded onto the IPod to show friends.

I have a programme on the computer that allows me to make up a slide show and again I add a small selection from each outing so that I can then produce a disc that can be shown on the TV via the DVD player. Normally put this on when its raining or feeling fed up.

If away from a week or two I always used to send postcards to family now I will go into a high street printers and if they can print onto photo paper that is plain on the reverse side (no company logos etc) I will run off a few prints and use the plain side as a postcard with address and short wish you were here message. Means they get a personalised postcard.

So what do the rest of you do? Do you take the memory card into one of the many outlets that have 'self print' machines and do it that way?

Does anyone use an on-line phote printing service?

Do you print them at home?

Or do you just store them on your PC and never print them off?

I think I am fancying the online print service myself but the last time I looked it was quite expensive but that was some time ago...

Snapfish currently offering free prints. For every valid email adress that I sign up you get 20 free print plus I get 20 free prints, so if you want your 20 free prints let me know your full email address, snapfish do NOT sell or share your email address, seems like a good deal to me.
