Got any cover with your Bank account? OK we pay quite a lot for our current account on the face of it, but if ALL of the bank charge was the insurance premium it still works out cheaper than buying annual cover elsewhere with all I've got falling apart !
Well the E111 only covers emergency treatment and doesn't cover repatriation. So OK if you suddenly get peritonitis or break something, it's great. But it doesn't get you home again either in an air ambulance or by any other means should you need to or prefer to be ill at home.
And if you - say - have your blood tested whilst you have your appendix out or you visit a doc just cos you feel carp, and they say ah, by the way you have an underactive thyroid and need to be on Thyroxine now for the rest of your life - would the E111 pay for that?
