Look,its just an alternator bolted to a strimmer engine! Despite what it says, it is not a proper controlled charging output. You already have an alternator on your van, you just need to harness its output more efficiently and intelligently.
Two options here,
1. Upgrade your split charging system with heavy cable and a decent heavy duty relay to decrease voltage drops and increase charge rates, or
2. Invest in a decent Battery to Battery or Alternator to Battery charger. These will speed up charge rates from your alternator AND provide a proper 4 step charge to best maintain your leisure battery. There's lots of info about these on the forum, just use the search function.
