Default Got an older Oyster sat system .. Could be bad news coming

A good many folk with an older Oyster had to have their control box's reprogrammed about 18 months ago as BBC turned off the transponder the system used to lock the dish on to

I have just found out Sky is about to turn off another one at the end of this month and as yet 'those that know' are unsure if it will affect the reprogrammed boxes again

If it DOES, then it is really bad news as the older control boxes ( fitted with the 128 chip ) will not be able to be reset again and the only way forward will be to buy a new controller ( Not cheap at 709.66 from Oyster )

rather than upgrade by old box I went to Robert ( Robert Jackson Sats ) and bought a new Oyster 2 controller at a very reasonable price.

The Oyster 2 controller is totally programmable so no matter what they turn on or off it will still be usable ( and it can be done by your self at home, with a very good 'walk through' by the good people of Oyster )
Life, begins at errrrr.... well the age you join Funsters I 'spose !
John & Mo............ and I will make it felony to drink small beer... Willy
