We are taking our 7.6 m motor home to Yorkshire and possibly the Dales in September. How motor home friendly are the roads and are there any that we should perhaps avoid?

not long enough
we have been down most with our 8m A class, no real issues, obviously avoid any signed restrictions on width, but mostly easy going, so much easier than the Lake District but mainly as not so busy

As ever try and look as far ahead as you can and keep an eye out for where you can back up to, even if the car is smaller ahead of you and could have stopped, it is often as easy just to back up yourself, as you would need to if meeting a lorry or bus

But just seen you are from Devon, it will be a stroll in the park compared to some of your roads :)

Thank you for the advice - I think the difference is that we know definitely where not to go in Devon and Cornwall! Yorkshire is a new experience for us. We often come across tourists looking completely shell shocked by some of our lanes - but we wouldn't ever want to move home.

Hi.
Yorkshire cattle trucks get around farms out in the wilds as do milk tankers. Go for it. GOC!
