Booked into Rowntree Park for a longish weekend , have visited York loads of times but tbh we tend to just gravitate to the city centre . now as lovely as that is do any Funsters have any alternatives to this ?
We will be taking the e bikes so weather permitting we have a twenty to thirty mile radius that we can cover.
Thanks in advance.

There's a nuclear bunker in Acomb. If that's your thing, English Heritage.

Get over to Pickering and take a steam train to Whitby, fabulous day out. Failing that join the York meet in July and let @Jez and Lin show you around, we had a brilliant 5 days there last year and I reckon it'll be even better this year.

Sustrans bike route towards Selby runs past the Site. It's about 15 miles so at the top end of your bike charge but you could go down to Bishopthorpe and have Lunch at the Woodman Inn ( see trip advisor ) its about a 6 mile round trip.

We stayed at Ashfield caravan park in Dunnington last week, they have some hardstandings, but not very big area to park on.
We bike into York, about 10km, on the sustran route 66, nice and flat
