Yes. I cannot remember where but I saw some Tubes which where allegedly a strip of LED`s inside?.

At Lincoln I think?

The outside Light on my Rapido had 4 halogens in. I took then all out a tapped into one to supply a strip of self adhesive LED`s behind the cover. works perfectly!.

I was wondering about replacing our strip lights with those. I have no idea how to do the tapping in bit but willing to learn. I reckon it would look great all around the top of the van instead of the strip lights.

you can use the 5m rolls of led's available on ebay to replace the strip lights tubes you remove the electronic bits and just wire them to the wires from the switch i did two total cost £8 and had enough strip left to do another two just stick the strip to the case where the tubes used to be

How I do the strip lights is a bit of a cheat but very cheap and very easy !
If you try and get the pucka replacements they are a small fortune..
I use the strips that are just flexible things
Remove light cover . Look where the wires go in to the light unit and remove them but leave the light unit in place complete with strip light
Attach wires direct to led strip
Attach LED strip to existing strip light bulb ( for want of a better word ) with three thin cable ties .. Quick, easy and cheap as chips

After reading this thread I have bought:-

Fitted all 8 today - excellent light.

And 2 metres of this which I will cut to replace 3 striplights:-

Not arrived yet so thats my job for next week, I will fit them as suggested by @Jaws above!
