We frequently visit our son in Princes Risborough and always take the MoHo. Just gives us that extra bit of privacy ;)

I have done - but then their spare room was very small with a single bed and there were two of us. And it meant our facilities were en suite as opposed to traipsing downstairs in the middle of the night to use the bathroom.

If the option is there we always take the MoHo .. Done it loads of times and indeed, when a MoHo owner has visited us in the past, they have stayed in their van even though there was the choice of a room in the house

Husband is in a wheelchair and many family members homes are not accessible. Neither are the toilet facilities. So the Motorhome will be a boon. They can come to us!

Our friends and family have got used to us visiting and going out the door to where our van is parked at bedtime.

We have everything we need in the van and it saves having to make up spare beds etc, dog prefers the familiar territory of the van too. We like our first cup of tea very early in the morning and so don't disturb anyone.

we have done the same over the years, especially loving having that first cuppa in the morning.
Now when anyone visits us they have the MH , it gives them privacy and the chance of a cuppa before descending on us. But as grandson is now 18yrs and 6ft tall, too tall for the over the cab bed so relegated to lounge floor or conservatory, or tent in garden with portaloo.
No I do not give up my bed.!!

If we have the choice, we prefer our MH but if the house we are visiting has room for 4 of us and is dog & cat-free, we will stay inside.

Bad habit that first cuppa in bed in the morning , started when we first started camping 40 odd years ago, and now I have retired that bad habit has continued at home aswell, but sometimes I ask hubby if he wants a cuppa and turn over, so guess who gets the job, no not me.

Always take our own stuff and the van if we can - own space to relax. Nothing more annoying than waking at the 'normal' time then lying there waiting for them to get up trying not to make any noise. In your own you can get up shower make a cuppa and sit and watch telly until there is signs of life. Much better.

We often stay in ours to visit friends and family too as it gives us all breathing space which we prefer. We sometimes tag on a few extra days on the way or way back to visit somewhere else.

Always. Especially with my Youngest Son, who`s wife has 5 cats. Vermin to which I am grossly allergic!!! Also for reasons most on here have espoused especially being able to use your own space and facilities. Have slept in the street outside a couple of times too!!!. but cannot do that with the current caravan/car rig. Still haven't found my "ideal" motor-home to replace the R-V!

We had a party at home a couple of weeks ago and the house was packed to the rafters we 'heroically' gave up our bedroom and slept in the van on the drive. Funnily enough all the cleaning was done (by the mother in law) and breakfast was well under way. Definitely the way forward!!!

When my cousin has a party I take the MH and park it on her drive. She has offered me to use spare room but I don't see the point in dirtying sheets plus prefer to have my own 2nd home to go home to.

Absolutely, in fact just back from a brilliant wk end at our nieces place, a stable conversion, to small for us all to fit in, but on a farm so plenty of space to park up. In three week we head for Ireland and will stay with friends, all be it in our van, both north and south of the country.
Much prefer to use the van as all our bit are in it and the beds are so comfortable.

I guess size makes a big difference, we are not the biggest. but too big @ 8m for most of our friends modern house / drive combinations

Interesting dilemma on the hook up though, would you all presume you can?

We have a friend with an electric car, we have a plug in hybrid, he was mortified when I asked if he minded me having a charge at his house, I know a full charge works out at £2, and would have paid as that gives us 25+ miles. Maybe not as good a friend as we thought :D

Hook up overnight on a cold night could use a few £'s electric

Yes. Especially our daughter who complained our house was cold when she lived here and now she lives in a fridge, give me the MH every time.
