Stayed here last Sunday but this time we ventured down to the beach and had a walk round the village. What a very pretty and clean village it was too. Sat outside the Hotel Normandy in the sun and quaffed a few Jenlain Blonde Abbayes - mmmm.

However one thing marred a lovely day. About 10pm, as I was taking the dog out, a French van pulled in to dump. He reversed into the allocated bay dropped his grey water and also his cassette on to the metal grill despite there being 2ft luminous red painted WC signs pointing to the adjacent man hole, then drove out.

Judging by the amount of visible excrement and general toilet detritus, he wasn't the first lazy git to not bother to tip down the manhole !

Why is it that the French abuse their Aires in such a way??

I saw several people use the facility and without fail they used the manhole which now has WC in luminous paint above and below the orifice.

Strange that you should take a picture of an ablution. Ah well each to their own

Perhaps you should take your pressure washer as well as your camera

As a newbie, renting a MH in the summer & planning to head over to France & convince the Mrs how wonderful it would be to have our own, can anyone post a guide to using Aires & waste facilities.
I wouldn`t want to dump in the wrong place and end up being cursed on here :Blush:

"All the Aires France" it is virtually the bible of where they are and what to do when you get there.
