Anyone fancy a look at grass roots motorsport come along. Wiscombe Park is a lovely venue
Going there this Friday for our MG meet on Saturday! It is lovely there.
I guess you will be there for the Sunday bikes meet?
By the way not just MG, a very varied field of cars will be taking part on Saturday. There is good access all along the track side, food available too in the paddock which is open for all.
Great Hill to ride as well, Good to watch at
Are you Racing @Riverbankannie ?
No, hubby and I have been involved with running the event since the MGCC took over the date about 35 years ago. Hubby used to be Clerk of Course and I did Results. Now results direct from timekeeping so I have a floating role usually paddock marshal. This year hubby Course Control so I will help him.
Hubby stopped competing about 13 years ago, gets a bit pricey now with changes to regulations so new kit would be needed as well as maybe problem getting speed licence due to heart problems.
Thats great, people like you keep the sport going thank you
Thoroughly enjoyed Wiscombe , catching up with so many people I'd not seen for years, watching all the classes, cheering Ian & Sam on, Putting faces to names etc, Lots of Riders & lots of em trying hard, lots of classic bikes (post some pic's), good weekend & our record still stands
My friends 500 velo just beautiful
We had a good weekend as well even though it chucked it down with rain for a few hours Saturday morning. Track started drying out for second practice and over lunch and both timed runs dry even under trees. Unfortunately OH not too well so we had to come home early on Sunday and missed all the bike action.
Were you camping Sat night?
Nice bike. I was too busy on Saturday to take photos, course control quite intense.
How is the OH now? @Riverbankannie ,yes we camped sat night, weather Sunday was lovely sorry
Been to doc today and got antibiotics so hopefully will start to improve.
Back in July we took MG to France with a group of like minded and went to Le Puy Notre Dame. The French certainly do things their own way!, a few straw bales to mark the course around the streets of the town, marshals smoking on said bales and little children on the bales with legs dangling over, Wine all day at Euro a glass.... if you completely forgot all the regulations we abide to here, it was great fun and a lovely festival event. 4 classes, two sports cars and one motorcycle and one motorcycle with sidecar. Billed as a demonstration event but it was racing. The sidecars were great with some lady riders doing balletic movements on corners eg stretching out with legs around the driver's neck. Not all young either. Event started by the local vineyard owner who has some old cars. One of their cars was driven by a leggy young lady in a diaphanous strappy outfit with shorts. One strap stylishly dropped down her shoulder and long blond hair flowing out behind her. At least she wore a helmet! I will try and find a picture of the event poster.
Fantastic, there are some great events over there, Ian Guy who I was helping want's us to try some of them out! I'd have to dust off a sidecar if I decided to do it with him, as I sold the one in my avatar
