The split charge relay on my Pilote is U/S. It is the old type Lucas SRB600 33RA. The small terminals are marked W1 and W2 and the big terminals are marked C2 and C3. I have bought a replacement unit and found that the small terminals are marked 85 and 86 and the big terminals are marked G and 30. There isn't a wiring diagram with the unit. Could the electrical expert please tell me where each wire goes please??

Now............if that was for me, I would say that doesn't help much

why not ????

OPs question
I have bought a replacement unit and found that the small terminals are marked 85 and 86 and the big terminals are marked G and 30. There isn't a wiring diagram with the unit.

I have given the diagram asked for .. and in the OPS first post said what goes where, if he needs more information he can ask .

The blunt answer you'd be best not to fiddle then.

The 85/86 are connected to an elecro-magnet. Put 12V across them and the rod pulls the switch above closed. So G is then connected to 30.

What this does is allow a little lightweight switch to connect G+30 which will be able to switch a BIG current.

What is happening in this case is there is a 12V output from the alternator when the engine is revving. This closes the relay which connects the engine battery (30) to the leisure battery (G) to charge the leisure battery.

Funny, I can now see that this forum, as with others that I subscribe to, is infested with"Keyboard Warriors" who seem to do nothing of any value except to criticise what others do. Maybe theyshould set up their own forum and just snipe at one another all day long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You completely misunderstand FUN. That was just a bit of FUN banter, it wasn't criticism, but unless you've been around here a good while you'd not know the people to be able to tell this.

Stick around a while, you'll get the picture.

I don't see it that way at all, this group is one of the least snipy I know. To explain my own comment... I thought I would see something that mapped the old numbers to the new numbers. However, if that is not necessary and you have all the information you need, then the job is a good'un.

No sniping intended

And welcome to the group...

I do believe that the OP asked what wire goes where.

He quite clearly stated that he didn't have a WIRING DIAGRAM.

The clue is here: There isn't a wiring diagram with the unit. Could the electrical expert please tell me where each wire goes please??

So just repeating the pin formulation ain't gonna help him IMHO, hence my initial query over the diagram.

But then I'm a To$$er, so I know nowt.

The original poster has removed a relay with C and W markings.
His new relay has 85, 86 et c.

He wants to know how the original markings correspond to the new markings.
My previous post explained it, I think.

Love, hugs and kisses to all. :lips:
