Don't forget the taps and pipes. Don't leave a loop in the shower. Maybe even blow up the taps if you can to get rid of any trapped water.

I've found over the years that its easier to leave well alone and just have a 500watt solid state radiator on, leave all cuboard doos open so the heat gets to vunerable areas like water heater, toilet, sink etc. it also saves deteriation of interior fabrics and smelling musty. Mind you I do tend to use mine throughout the year and not just in the summer, I am in fact away for a long weekend next week.

THANKS FOR THE WARNING

However for us haganaps it means get the skis waxed, polish the snowboard bases and wait for the snow. :thumb:

We love the winter.:thumb: and our van gets so used in winter no time for draining tanks.:winky:

If you have a Elson type toilet its worth emptying it and if it has a separate flush tank empty that as well, and as has already been suggested make sure the pipework is empty also.

Quick Check List compiled from contributers to this thread (Please add to it)

Empty Main Water tanks
Empty/drain all pipework (possible blow through themto clear any trapped water)
Make sure all the low lying pipes are empty as well
Empty Grey water tanks
Empty Water heaters
Empty Toilets and flush tanks
Empty any water bottles/beer etc.

Please add anything that you can think of.

Winter is on its way

"An early warning that winter's on its way", what planet are you on, ducky? It's blooming well here, up in the glen, with snow on every hill, and the sun behind the one to the west by 2,35 today - I looked!

Still it's nice to drive around on sidelights only at midnight, come summer...l

Happy St Andrews Day to everyone, here's to Mahogany then Burns night... any excuse for a hooley

So, tonight get outside some whisky and drink a toast to God's frozen people.
