If you don't get it solved tonight maybe you just leave heating and hot water on.

I have a 2004 Rapido.my shower trap is under the van.you just twist it anticlockwise and wipe clean.some water will run down your arm:) you should have a fresh water drain as well.open all taps let water drain.then leave taps open and run pump for a few seconds. Also drain heating boiler.depending on heating system

It has a double floor Sandra so i'm not too worried but i just don't know how to access it. I have read the manual inside out.......it says to drain and clean but nothing about access.

It is pretty much sheltered, between 2 buildings and in front of my garage........but i don't want to take the chance if i can avoid it.

As above, i have a double floor, can't find my way to it. Everything else drained as per Rapido.

To be honest I don't drain my trapvery often ,the amount of water in probably around a egg cup full.and mine is not double floor.just open to elements and never had any freezing problems. In my manual it shows my fresh water drain as being next to water tank.guess what.I have to remove a drawer under oven to reach the drain tap:)

I reckon that is lost in translation. The sink is has its own. According to the data sheet there should be three traps. Shower, washbasin and kitchen sink. Got the other two but fecked if i can get near the shower one.

Edit, the data sheet is pointing to the shower tray.

You could put some undiluted screen wash down the plug hole. That will stop it freezing... unless it gets down to minus 20. Even diluted 50/50 should do it.

There is a full stop and then a new sentence referring to the sink not the shower. You don't have an accessible trap on your tray otherwise you would have found it.

Could there be a remote air trap for the shower below the floor under the sink?

Andy if you look at the data sheet it points out three. One at the kitchen sink. One in the WC washbasin and one in the shower tray. See attached photo

The only way to access my trap is to remove the shower lining wall panels and lift the tray

Obviously not meant to be accessed, i'll see what they have to say about it.
I wouldn't imagine much damage, if it ices up, as it is only 10 mm of water in the flat of the trap with plenty of expansion space.

to drain my rapido water tank, you get into the garage, remove a clipped in panel to access the drain tap

That isn't the purpose of the thread.
See post 1

Found this in the manual, it will probably be obvious.

I have a Rapido and haven't drained the traps in the 9 years I've had it. There's not much water in them but if you're worried about them freezing stick a bit of winter screenwash down them, as someone suggested earlier.

Never heard of anyone draining traps? even if the small amount of water froze it cannot do any damage as there is room for expansion. Would recommend @Techno system of using air pump to remove water from pipework then leave taps / boiler vent open never had a problem.

I remove the chrome cover on the trap, lift out the innner plastic piece and then use kitchen to soak up the small amount of water in the trap. On my 9048 there is no other acces.

Update...... I phoned Rapido tech dept in France....... Basically you can't access the trap to clean or drain it. The advice was it doesn't need drained for winter because of double floor.
To clean i was advised to use a propriety plastic pipe cleaner.
