Grrrrr!

Need to vent my spleen!

Does anyone else get bloody annoyed by the auto wipe function on their windscreen wipers when they operate the washers?
The concept of the wipers operating for a few sweeps during and shortly after the the washers are used is a great idea.
But WHY Oh WHY, do the wipers have to operate for one further sweep a few seconds after the previous wiping and washing?

All it does is smear the clean, dry windscreen and you have to start all over again!!!! It does my head in!!!!!!!

Always assumed it was to clear that bit of water that got left behind at the top of the screen, due to centrifugal force. Maybe I need new blades!

I think it needs tayloring to the aerodynamics of individual vehicles rather than being used across the range.
It seems OK on our Toyota IQ, but that final delayed sweep causes smearing across a dry screen on both my work van and the motorhome.
It is worse in salty road conditions.

But it drives me nuts!!!!!!

Huh!!!! You think that's a pain.
I have no fewer than 9, yes 9, wiper speeds.
The lowest has a delay of around 3 minutes...pointless as the water has cleared itself between sweeps.

I've got the other extreme with my rear wiper - you get one sweep with the washer, which is from the top, so you still have washer fluid running down the window afterwards and have to manually add a couple of sweeps yourself (n)

Bloody hard work this driving lark!
If it's so bad why not employ a chauffeur and stop moaning!
Cheers, Dave(y)
