Yep...looks like investing in an external drive...the one recommended by Larry looks all singing all dancing...exactly like my laptop running W7 was!!
Although the W10 free download was by invite I kept declining, and then I switched the laptop on one morning and the W10 decided to download itself, I couldn't stop it. I wasn't aware at the time that there was a cooling off period were you could revert back to W7, nor was I aware that windows media was not supported in the update.
I'd like to go back to W7 if possible.
