They need to keep their clients on side seeing that a lot of newer tablets not bothering with Microsoft.

You can configure it to 'act' similar to Win7
Google it.

I have used Window 8.1 for sometime and think it's fine, why get it to look/feel like Windows 7, it's different......its Windows 8.1 if you think Windows 7 then for sure you won't like it.

Us Mac users are used to free operating system upgrades. I agree about WIN 8; awful software, still using Win 7 and feel no need to pay for an upgrade, Win 7 is brilliant, 10 would have to be much better and free to get me to move from it.

my win 8 Laptop wont even upgrade to 8.1. Think I will Wait it out for a while and let early adopters take the pain
