I've considered buying some, but always thought it would be a bit of a faff to put them up and take them down if only staying somewhere for a night or two (and never keen on leaving the awning out overnight in case the wind strengthens) so would be interested to hear the views of those who have them.

20 years (unless you count my dads VW which makes it 52 years with a few gaps!!)
we have the ones with membrane. We love them. only take a few minutes to put up, although rarely use all three. proper tie down kit for the awning, although if the weather is a bit iffy, I don't leave up at night or if we go out for the day. quite often just put the sides on for the evening, just makes sitting outside a bit more cosy.
