Hi All,
Still new to all this so forgive me.
I'm in the midst of planning my family holiday.
We are renting a Burstner Elegance from the lovely people at Harrogate Motorhomes. It's plainly a great vehicle but it is absolutely maaaahooosive! [8.21m long and 2.79m high]. It also weighs-in at a respectable 5 tonnes!
I've plugged in the details to a few ferry websites and they seem to want £300 for a single trip across the channel and about double (just less) for a return. Brittany ferries were quoting this much from Cherbourg to Poole but then also advising that they didn't take vehicles this long or heavy.
The tunnel looks decidedly cheaper (£170 return).
Does this all sound right? Am I missing something?
Any tips would be most welcome.
Thanks in advance.
