There is a place often used by HGV's on the A570 Rainford By Pass, a few hundred yards from the M58 towards Rainford/St.Helens. Not sure how good or safe this is, but may suit you if you want to wild. I have seen the odd motorhome there on the odd occasion. There won't be too many overnight HGV's Christmas Eve/ night I am guessing.

I've stopped there and it is really safe. It is said to be haunted though.

Don't know the area but people have been mentioning Rainford, my brother-in-law who lives there told me about a new CS, CCC members only, just opposite the Junction Inn apparently:

No he doesn't have a MH, but we can't get ours up their street so this is the only way they can ask us to visit & not have to invite us to stay over!!!
So... maybe we can meet up when/ if we DO go to visit them...???

The Junction is a real ale and music pub, somewhere to park up for the real ale festivals for me as transport to here is not good from our end. Good for others is it is adjacent to Rainford Junction rail station also, into Liverpool or Wigan.

Hi to all,
Will be travelling home to Liverpool to see friends & family for a month (16 dec - 16 jan) over christmas, does anyone know of anywhere safe where i would be able to park up & safely use my generator for a few hours at least & also where would be safe to park overnight for a single traveller in the Liverpool, Port Sunlight area.
Thanks in advance to anyone who is able to help.

Hi all,
many thanks for all your replies to my question of where to park in Liverpool.
I have since returned from Liverpool back to Portsmouth.
It was a bit of an abortion my trip, didn't get to see any of my family whilst there, although my old school pal Peter & I did spend 4 days visiting our old haunts from our childhood days, which was the highlight of my visit.
I shall be returning to Liverpool at some point in the future so will have many places to look at when i do travel back there.
Once again many thanks to all who posted.
I am once again an exiled Scouser.
Thanks Roo

We spent two lovely nights at Crosby Beach by the iron men, quietly tucked out of the way.

I only live 5 miles from Crosby beach and it is one of my favourite places to stop on the way home. Just 1 more night away please before we go home.
