We have been invited to go and visit a former work colleague, and he suggested that as there was a big Forestry Commission forest close to his home, we could set up in there "almost anywhere".

It got me thinking, has anyone done any wild camping on Forestry Commission land? We would be there overnight only, and probably only a Saturday night, so it would be unlikely that we would come across any FC workers.

I know there are unmetalled tracks, used in forest stages for various rallies which can be in quite reasonable condition.

Strictly speaking there is no camping allowed on any Forestry Commission land, apart from their sites.

But its up to you you takes your chance if you do.
